Reading Public Schools to host Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers on Town Common

Reading Public Schools will host the Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers for a special community-wide cultural event on Saturday, May 2, at 10:00 am on the Reading Town Common (16 Lowell Street).

The event is designed to provide an engaging and interactive experience for residents of all ages, bringing indigenous history, music, and dance beyond the classroom and into the broader community.

A celebration of culture and tradition

Attendees will have the opportunity to experience traditional Northeastern Woodlands social songs and dances through live performances by the Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers.

Organizers say the program aims to:

  • Celebrate cultural traditions and storytelling

  • Promote understanding of Indigenous history and heritage

  • Foster community connection through shared experience
