Community leaders, advocates, and public servants from across Massachusetts gathered at the Massachusetts State House on Friday, February 27, 2026, for the annual Black Excellence on the Hill event.

The Town of Reading’s Office of Equity and Social Justice has announced that the Black History Month Trivia Night has been rescheduled

CATO – The Coalition of Us (CATO), a Reading-based social justice organization dedicated to advancing racial justice for Black and brown people, has released a new Black History Month “Bingo Card” designed to help community members engage in meaningful, accessible ways throughout February.

Celebrate 100 years of Black History Month at the 2nd annual Black History Trivia Night from 6:30 pm-8:00 pm on Monday, February 23, at the Reading Public Library.

A recent issue of the 28 Days of Black History newsletter from Feb. 8, 2026, highlights the history and lasting impact of “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” widely known as the Black National Anthem.

Black History Month marks more than a moment of recognition; it reflects a century-long effort to ensure that Black history, scholarship, and lived experiences are remembered, taught, and valued.

Community members are invited to take part in a fun and educational evening at the Reading Public Library during the upcoming Black History Month Trivia Night on Monday, February 23, at 6:30 pm in the Community Room.
