House Minority Leader Bradley H. Jones, Jr. (R-North Reading) will be holding his monthly district office hours in Reading on Friday, September 11 from 10:15-11:15 a.m. at the Pleasant Street Center, located at 49 Pleasant Street.

Dr. Mariah Lancaster released a statement on August 29, officially ending their candidacy in the Massachusetts 6th district race for the United States Congress. Below is the full statement.

Tram Nguyen today received the endorsement of Democratic candidate Dr. Mariah Lancaster, who announced they are dropping out of the race to help coalesce the field around the strongest progressive in the race. 

As summer winds down and Reading heads into a new school year, the Reading Food Pantry thanks the community for its year-round support and wishes students, teachers, and staff a great year ahead.

Today, building on a week of cascading support and high-profile endorsements, Tram Nguyen’s campaign for Congress announced the endorsement of Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell.

Dan knows that good leadership starts with listening — week after week, he’s shown up to our community events, takes the time to meet with local officials and residents, and hears directly about the issues that matter most to them,” said Bettencourt. 

Today, Thursday, August 27, is the final day of in-person early voting for the September 1, 2026, state primary in Reading.

Reading residents will have another chance to put their questions to town and school leaders during a virtual session on Monday, August 31, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm about the proposed FY28 operational override.

Seven state senators, eleven state representatives, and local leaders from the Merrimack Valley to the Cape join the campaign against the top-two primary.
